Jacobs family business records, 1868-1919.

Correspondence, banking records, legal records and business receipts document the economics of business in territorial southern Arizona and provide a detailed account of the Jacobs family's business operations. Correspondence is between family members and mostly concerns their mercantile business; receipts are present from suppliers. Ledgers include a day book and ledger for 1869 listing customers, purchases and amounts. Customers include many local pioneers. There are City of Tucson indentures for property, a contract for purchase of a mule and wagon train, and mining location notices. Bank records consist of correspondence, deposit slips, checks, and a journal for First National Bank, 1882 to 1885, which lists customer's daily balances.
